Proclamation of the Provisional Government in Exile of Côte d’Ivoire

PROCLAMATION OF THE PROVISIONAL GOVERNMENT-IN-EXILE OF CÔTE D’IVOIRE,

We,

Ivorian citizens concerned about the fate of our country,

Aware that Côte d’Ivoire has suffered for more than twenty years an illegal, illegitimate and violent occupation by an enemy armed force supported by foreign forces,

Convinced that the occupation of Côte d’Ivoire violates international law, Ivorian constitutional law and the democratic choice of the Ivorian people,

Determined to fight and put an end to this occupation, liberate our territory and our population, restore our sovereignty, our integrity and our dignity,

Gathered in extraordinary general meeting on October 10, 2023,

Let us solemnly proclaim the creation of the Provisional Government-in-Exile of Côte d’Ivoire, as the supreme legitimate and legal authority and representative of the Ivorian State.

The Provisional Government-in-Exile of Côte d’Ivoire presents itself as the independent and sovereign Ivorian State. It claims the national territory and the population of Côte d’Ivoire, in order to represent, protect and secure. It claims to be a sovereign and independent state working for the liberation of Côte d’Ivoire from occupation.

The Provisional Government-in-Exile of Côte d’Ivoire organizes and supports the Ivorian national resistance and any other useful and necessary means to achieve its objective.

The Provisional Government-in-Exile of Côte d’Ivoire has its headquarters in Châteaubriant. The Provisional Government-in-Exile of Côte d’Ivoire calls on the Ivorian people to join it in its fight for the liberation of Côte d’Ivoire from the yoke of occupation.

The Provisional Government-in-Exile of Côte d’Ivoire calls on other States, as well as international and regional organizations, to recognize the Provisional Government-in-Exile of Côte d’Ivoire as the Ivorian State, sovereign and independent, and as the legal government and legitimate of Côte d’Ivoire.

He calls on these actors to support the Provisional Government-in-Exile of Côte d’Ivoire in its fight for the liberation of Côte d’Ivoire from the yoke of occupation. The Provisional Government-in-Exile of Côte d’Ivoire seizes the competent bodies, such as the United Nations Security Council, the International Court of Justice or the International Criminal Court, to request the application of international law and the sanction of those responsible for occupation.

The Provisional Government-in-Exile of Côte d’Ivoire is preparing the conditions for a return to peace, democracy and development in Côte d’Ivoire, by developing an inclusive, consensual and participatory political project for the future of the country.
